Bury St. Edmunds Christmas Lights Switch On 2017
For the third year running, The Snow Queen and her Snowman Friend will be available for Meet and Greet around the town centre. Come have your photo taken and give us a warm hug!
The Christmas Lights Switch-On involves the annual turning on of all the festive lights in the town and is set to be a fantastic evening of festive fun!
We’ll be offering a packed programme of free street and stage entertainment, festive fundraising stalls and fairground rides. The main attraction of the evening will be the Switch On, featuring a special festive guest at 7pm. Entertainment will then continue until 8pm.
Other highlights of the evening will be the penguins, which will be in a special enclosure on Abbeygate Street as well as a baby reindeer with its mother. There’s a full programme of stage entertainment outside Moyses Hall from 3.15pm. Pantomime characters from The Theatre Royal’s production of Dick Whittington and special guests Elsa and Olaf will also be making an appearance.
On Thursday 16th November, until Christmas, there will be free parking across the town from 4pm. This supports the late-night shopping evenings, every Thursday from 16th November.
