Sat 26 March 2016 – Spring Steam-Up
This Spring the Long Shop Museum will reopen in style by launching the 2016 season with a fantastic steam and activity day from 10am-4pm.
Come and wonder at large and small engines in steam, including our very own ‘Sirapite’ shunting engine. Plus the debut appearance of our recently restored to steam ‘Consuello Allen’ who will make a grand entrance at 10.30am.
At 1pm Suffolk County Councillor Colin Noble will cut the ribbon and unveil our Portable Steam Engine which has been under restoration, and can be seen on it’s wheels by the public for the first time in over 20 years. Not to be missed!
Live music will be provided plus a variety of hands-on activities for those of all ages and interests, as well as blacksmithing demonstrations through the day.
Tea, coffee and scrumptious home made cakes will be available throughout the day, with lovely home-made soup at lunchtime.
No need to book – just come along!
