Taking inspiration from the Suffolk countryside and a love of all things sea and sky, The Distressed Artist™ uses acrylic on canvas and ceramics as her current mediums. Forever open to development of technique and use of different mediums, she spends her days immersed in her art and the countryside that inspires it.
A keen supporter of embracing mental health as a key element of any individuals development, The Distressed Artist™ provides a welcoming environment in her Suffolk based studio for anyone to experiment with art.
A relatively new and developing artist, The Distressed Artist™ welcomes enquiries and commissions.

About The Artist
Having grown up in rural Suffolk without a television, Bon has always had a creative streak that served her well in power cuts. Her friends will testify to her predilection for creating whatever may be needed, be it for decorating an event or hand making a gift, she will put her hand to it.
A keen artist at school, as an adult she forgot about paint brushes for 20 years and knitted enough owls to fill a forest, sculpted cakes, decorated every event and tried to be grown up. However, being a grown up sometimes sucks and having been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bon rediscovered her love of painting and paints and 'potters' as a means of finding balance in life.
Worried that her 'bat cave'/studio, and then maybe the house would become overrun with paintings and pieces of pottery, Bon's husband and friends encouraged her to display her work online and sell it.
She hopes you like it.
Art & You for Children
Art is such an important part of life. It is a form of communication. It allows us to express ourselves in a way that is both private and yet public at the same time. We can privately have our own understanding of our art (which we may chose to share publicly) and at the same time others may interpret our art differently.
Art & You children's workshops encourage children to explore their creative talents in their own way, supported by an artist. They undertake a range of activities which are chosen by themselves as a group each week. The groups consist of a maximum of 10 children aged 6 to 12 years. The sessions last for 2 hours with a 15 minute play break in the middle.
The classes take place at Hummingbird Studio and are willingly supported by Abi the labradoodle and Buddy the cocker spaniel. They love to meet the children and interact with them.
If you have any questions about these sessions please do contact me.
