General Information

Ipswich Opportunity Group provides specialist support for parents / carers and families with children with additional needs aged 0 – 5 years. A range of play activities are provided with consideration to children’s individual abilities, this includes floor and table activities, craft, textures and sensory activities.

There are also group activities for snack and music time. Parents are able to have some time away from the children if they wish as there is a high ratio of staff. Parents are supported by staff but also gain a lot of support from each other. Sessions run term time plus some school holidays, please enquire for details of school holiday dates by calling 07746 580132.

HOW THE ACTIVITY IS SUPPORTED: The sessions are led by qualified staff.

RATIO OF STAFF TO CHILDREN: The maximum group size could be up to 12 children

STAFF ARE TRAINED TO ASSIST IN THE FOLLOWING: Makaton PECS Managing challenging behaviour Sensory training Staff are also trained in autism awareness and portage support

SUPPORT STATEMENT: Parent/Carer must stay on site (but are not required to stay with their child at all times).
