General Information

 “Our Farm Park is the perfect place to visit for all the family. If you would like to get up close to many farmyard favourites, this is the place to do it! You can feed and pet all the animals on our Nature Trail, they’re all very friendly. Just remember to use our hand sanitisers to clean your hands!

are a working farm and are open for visitors 7 days a week.... There's loads to do at the farm for a great family day out. We have a Nature Trail, Woodland Walk, Beautiful Garden's, Farm Shop, Adventure Play Area, Barn Restaurant and Field Kitchen. You can buy all of our home reared free range pig produce, beef and lamb in our butchers as well as an abundance of herbs and veggies from our garden. If you can't make it to the farm you can buy our meat from our lovely online shop.

Petting Timings

Animal petting can be enjoyed every weekend and throughout the week during school holidays.  We have a board up at the entrance to our Farm Park to tell you about weekend petting timings.  They are always on the hour at 11am, 12pm, 1pm & 2pm.

The Butterfly House

The Butterfly House is Jimmy’s passion project and childhood interest.  It is home to an incredible array of beautiful tropical butterflies, flying freely amongst the exotic plants and flowers. You may even spot Tropical fish in the pool!  Immerse yourself in this jungle-like environment and watch as these amazing insects fly freely between the exotic array of flora and fauna.

Children’s Play Areas

We have several play areas for little folk:

  • A wooden playground
  • Giant Sandpit
  • Adventure Play Area – with zip wire, climbing pyramids, bouncy animals, sports challenge and play vehicles.  Suitable for children of all ages.
  • Hobbit House

The Woodland Walk

The perfect place to spot many native plants and animals. If you are extremely lucky you may even see the rare Dormouse or Stagbeetles.  In the spring, the bluebells offer a dazzling spectacle of colour and scent.

The Sky Walk

Will take you around the open farm to see more of our wonderful rare-breed pigs.

Birthday Parties at Jimmy’s Farm

Our Birthday parties are led by Jimmy’s Farm staff so you can relax and enjoy yourself and let the kids enjoy the fun of the farm! You have exclusive use of our wonderful Round House for your party, a truly magical place to be!! Your party will last 2 1/2 hours and include activities on the farm and lunch. Morning (10:15am), and afternoon slot (2.00pm) are available on a Saturday or Sunday and during School Holidays mid-week. Suitable for 4 to 9 year olds.

Cost per child £14.00 (£140 minimum charge)

Up to 6 adults can accompany the birthday group, at no extra charge.

Additional adults and children will be charged at £3.00 during the winter and £4.00 during the summer season per person.

50% deposit required at booking (nonrefundable) – balance payable on day of party


Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the date of the party; otherwise there will be a charge of 50% (deposit)

What will you do?

  • Meet and feed the animals on the Farm Park.
  • Den Building for older children.

Following their party the children will be able to enjoy the adventure playground or get busy in the sand pit! Why not coincide your party with a visit to the Farm Park and the Woodland Walk (In the Summer, you may also visit the wonderful Butterfly House).


Party Platters will be served with a Selection of Sandwiches, Sausage Rolls, Cocktail Sausages, Crisps, Chocolate Bites, Cookies and Fruit.

This is a set menu, with no options for changing items the sandwiches will include vegetarian options

You may bring along a birthday cake or this may be ordered from the Chefs , prices start from £25.00. (Chocolate or Victoria Sponge)




Admission to Jimmy’s Farm itself is free.
This includes our restaurant, farmshop and gardens.

Should you wish to visit our Nature Trail, where all our animals and childrens’ activities are, charges are as follows:

Autumn/Winter entry prices

Please note that our Butterfly House is closed during this period, hence the reduced prices.

Our special offer for military personnel and emergency services has now expired and will be charged at the normal rate of entry.

People with disabilities and their carers will be charged at concessions rates.

Annual Family Passes are available at £75.00* and may be purchased on line or in our Farm Shop. This will be sent through the post to you.

From Central Ipswich

  • Take the Wherstead Road to the Oyster Reach
  • Make a right turn at the roundabout
  • Proceed up the hill past the Ski Slope
  • Proceed straight across the next 2 roundabouts towards Brantham/Manningtree
  • After approx 1/3 mile the turning to the farm shop is on the right (signposted).

From Felixstowe

  • Drive over the Orwell Bridge
  • Take first exit (Junction 56)
  • At top of slip road take the first left towards Brantham/Manningtree
  • After approx 1/3 mile the turning to the farm shop is on the right (signposted).

From Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge & Huntingdon

  • Take the A14 towards Felixstowe
  • Exit A14 at Junction 56
  • At top of slip road take a right towards Brantham/Manningtree
  • Proceed straight across the next roundabout
  • After approx 1/3 mile the turning to the farm shop is on the right (signposted).

From Clacton, Manningtree, Brantham & Harwich

  • Take/Join the A137 towards Ipswich
  • Proceed through Tattingstone towards Wherstead
  • Watch out for the Brown “Jimmy’s Farm 150 Yards” signpost
  • The turning to the farm shop is on the next left (signposted).

From M25

  • Exit the M25 at Junction 28
  • Proceed towards Chelmsford/Colchester/Ipswich
  • Continue along the A12 until the Copdock Exchange with the A14 (Tesco/Toys “R” Us superstores
  • Take the 3rd Exit towards Felixstowe (A14)
  • Exit the A14 at the first exit (Junction 56)
  • At top of slip road turn right at the roundabout towards Brantham/Manningtree
  • Proceed straight across the next roundabout
  • After approx 1/3 mile the turning to the farm shop is on the right (signposted).
