Walberswick has a long sand and shingle beach backed by grassy dunes and surrounded by marsh and heathland.

The nature reserve, which follows the River Blyth estuary, covers over 1,000 acres, combining mudflats, meadows and marsh. It is home to otters, deer and a wide range of bird species.

Walberswick is approximately 3 miles/5 km from the A12 at Blythburgh

Public transport information:

The nearest train station is Darsham.
Local buses serve Southwold from  Halesworth and Lowestoft. You  can then walk to Walberswick from Southwold (30 mins).

It is the best dog friendly coastline because it imposes no pet restrictions. It is located across the River Blyth from Southwold.
