Where To Take Our Children/Suffolk Kids grew from the frustrations of two Suffolk mums, who needed to find new and exciting places to take their kids. We wished we could just go to one place to find not only days out and activities, but also local businesses offering services for kids such as lessons and party entertainers. This is how the idea of a new and powerful search tool was born, with the power to see filtered results from:
- Family Guide, displaying days out, attractions and services for families
- Events, highlighting special events, recurrent events (classes/lessons) and family shows, or
- "What to do" search option (tick both "Family Guide" and "Events" together), for parents that just need ideas on what to do with their kids, whether events, activities or days out - in short, a page with everything displayed to help a busy parent decide What To Do, without having to navigate through Family Guide and Events results separately. Information can be sorted by age or location - Give it a go!
We also recognised that there was a real need for family-focused start-up and micro businesses to be able to showcase their offering on a highly targeted platform. Perhaps a parent working to turn a hobby into a business, or a mum who is hoping to build up a business part time as she looks after the kids, and who doesn't have a website or online presence. Rather than build an expensive website and commit your valuable time and resources to driving traffic to it, you can simply place a rich listing here on www.wheretotakeourchildren.co.uk and share your events, classes, and services with thousands of local parents looking for just the sort of things that you offer.
Meet the team:
Miriam has nurtured the Suffolk Kids website since its conception. Fortunately she has a background in sales, marketing, management and event creation, supported by a degree in Business Studies and an MSc in Analysis and Design of Information Systems, so has been able to take it all in her stride. With a head full of ideas, Miriam always has some sort of project on the go, and can’t imagine life without multitasking. She loves living in Suffolk and is kept busy by her cheeky 7-year-old, who doesn't let his health issues slow him down! Head hunter of fun things to do in Suffolk with kids, Miriam once created a Faceboook page to find places to take her son, as she was running out of ways to meet his need to constantly burn energy... all perfect training for running a website like Where To Take Our Children. To get in touch with Miriam, just email her on Miriam@wheretotakeourchildren.co.uk
Sarah has been part of the Suffolk Kids team since 2015 and brings experience in social media and email marketing, with a particular passion for discovering what people really need and making it happen. Sarah has lived in Suffolk all her life, and is mum to a Star Wars-mad 7-year-old who never stops asking questions. She dreams of one day seeing the Northern Lights… or maybe just having a lie-in.
