You might have heard of OneLife Suffolk, the free healthy lifestyle service funded by Suffolk County Council. One of their services include, programmes tailored to support families, children and teens to fulfil a healthy lifestyle. This summer the team will be delivering FREE summer holiday clubs during dates in August at various locations across the county from 9am-3pm
When I first heard about their programmes i struggled to understand how they would manage to teach young children healthy eating habits without them getting incredibly bored!
Well the answer is very simple, they make it fun! The kids join a group of other similar aged children and they do games, sports, crafts and many more fun activities specially designed for their age group.
To qualify children have to be 2-18 years old and with a BMI (body mass index) above the 91st centile on the growth charts and their siblings can also attend, even if just one child is eligible. You can check your child’s BMI(body mass index) on the OneLife Suffolk website, you will need your child’s weight and height, so make sure to have them ready! And remember, you have to book at least 1 week before the club starts.
To book your child’s place onto one of the free holiday clubs, call OneLife Suffolk on 01473 718193. Booking is essential.
