The Easter holidays are just around the corner and, once again, Ipswich Museums are gearing up for a fortnight of fun.

This spring there is an arty theme and here is a selection of what you can enjoy from 3-12 April.

Butterfly Printing, 3 April – Explore the Museum’s butterfly collection and create your own patterns with press prints and mono printing.

Fashion Forward, 10 April – Discover the wonderful world of African design through our World Culture collections and try your hand at block pattern printing.

Stencil Your Street, 4 April – Inspired by the You Are Here! The Making of Ipswich exhibition, create street scenes by stencilling your favourite buildings from Ipswich.

Arty Selfies, 11 April – Take inspiration from the character portraits in the You Are Here! The Making of Ipswich exhibition to create your own Ipswich selfie using drawing and printing techniques.

Totally Toys, 5 April – Explore your creative side using our vintage toy collection at the Mansion to sketch, design and create monoprints of your own fantastic toys.

Ghost Prints, 12 April – Create a printed portrait inspired by Christchurch Mansion’s paintings and find out what mono ghost printing is.

There are two sessions per day and all Arty Easter events can be booked through the Regent website, www.ipswichregent.com

Also during the holiday is the popular and FREE Ask the Expert day on 11 April 10am-3pm at Ipswich Museum. Have you ever found something interesting and wondered what it might be? Bring in your own treasured items, share your stories about them and ask questions to a variety of specialists. Collect your fossils, rocks, bones, teeth and small bugs (if well-contained). Just drop in – no need to book.
