Mark Whiting, Ipswich Borough Council Operations Manager said, “Due to the poor weather conditions we have had to cancel tomorrow’s Family Fun Day in Holywells Park, Myrtle Meadow. The event was due to take place outside in the park on Wednesday 9 August, 12 – 4pm. The previous and forecast heavy rain has made it both unpleasant and potentially unsafe for the event to go ahead.  We have notified all the activity providers and will be working with them to rearrange theFamily Fun Day for a new date later in August. Watch this space!”

“However,” He added, “there’s still plenty of fun family activity taking place inside tomorrow and throughout the summer at Ipswich Museum, Christchurch Mansions and our leisure centres that the weather can’t spoil. These include archery, drama workshops, family roller skating sessions, soft play, Summer of Sound: Show and Tell, a Pop Up Vintage Salon, and the Clangers, Bagpuss & Co Exhibition. There is a charge for some of these activities but most are free. To find out more visit and or call 01473 433655.”
