Once Upon A Festival returns in 2018, aiming to bring high quality children’s theatre into schools, libraries and other arts venues in order to reach and expose as many children to the arts as possible. This year one of our main house shows is Full House Theatre’s The Owl and The Pussycat and in order to make the experience more enriching for families we are bringing back our popular treasure trail, in and around Bury St Edmunds (Wed 16 May – Sat 16 Jun). Children are invited to pick up a map from the theatre which will guide them to 5 locations around the town where we will have placed a treasure from the show and a limerick. When the children find a treasure, they will draw a picture of it on the map and write down the last word of the limerick that is hidden along with it. The completed maps can then be handed back in when visiting for a performance of the show, in exchange for
an exciting free gift.

The Owl and the Pussycat is a fizzgiggious show all about where, what and who our family really are. Presented by Full House Theatre, join Owly-cat and fellow family members, Jumblie and Quangle Wangle Quee, in a story inspired by the nonsense world of Edward Lear. A totally original take on the well-known poem it is also influenced by Edward Lear’s little known, unfinished poem about the Owl and Pussycat’s children. With an uplifting original score and elements of clowning in a nonsense world of silliness, this is theatre suitable for all ages with a recommended age of 3 plus.
The treasure trail will run from Wed 16 May until Sat 16 Jun, and there are four performances of The Owl and the Pussycat, Fri 15 – Sat 16 Jun. Tickets are on sale at the Box Office, call 01284 769505, book online at www.theatreroyal.org/shows/the-owl- and-the- pussycat/ or visit the theatre in person (where maps are already available to collect).
