Go bananas with Bury Library’s little book club Bury St Edmunds Library is launching a new initiative aimed at parents of pre-school children and toddlers.‘The Little Book Club’ will start with a special session on Friday 3 July based on ‘Betty Goes Bananas’ by Steve Anthony which is fun and engaging story about a hungry gorilla trying to eat a banana. Children will have a chance to join in with a fun and interactive storytelling session including snacks and will then take home their own copy of Betty Goes Bananas to read with their parents. The session is £6 including the book and is aimed at 2-4 year olds and their parents. If the idea is popular the intention is to run a regular club from September based on other books. The aim is to provide children with their own books to enjoy and read at home and provide parents with tips and new storytelling ideas for reading with their young children. Anyone interested in joining in next week can book in the library or call 01284 732255.
