Half-term holiday fun in Ipswich

There is lots going on in Ipswich to enjoy during the half-term holiday.

The Borough Council’s Whitsun holiday programme covers a wide range of activities at three sports centres, two swimming pools, museums and parks – and it all starts next week!

For sports fans you can take your pick from bouncy play, rollerskating, family trampolining, coached football, soft play sessions, racquet sports and dance at Northgate, Whitton and Gainsborough sports centres. And you can have a splashing time at Crown Pools with family float sessions, toddler fun and the inflatable slide.

The Museum and Christchurch Mansion offer days of fun for the whole family, so why not take in both and explore Christchurch Park, too? Both our museums are free to visit. On Wednesday 30th May the popular Ask the Expert day returns to the Museum. This is a free family event and is on from 10am to 3pm. People can bring in their own items to discuss with a variety of experts. The focus of this one is on local and social history.

Ipswich’s parks are magical places to visit and have a picnic in – and not only for the excellent play areas in Christchurch and Holywells - you can also cool off at the new play beach at Bourne Park.

There is a Night Safari at Holywells Park on Friday 1st June, brought to you by Suffolk Wildlife Trust. It’s an evening of family fun between 7.30pm to 9pm. £4 adults, £2 child. Please book at www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org
