“I believe in Unicorns is set in a library full of books, that hold more than stories within their pages. It is a tale of the power of books to change lives, and the bravery of a boy named Tomas. Tomas loves playing in the mountains where he lives, and he hates reading and school; but his life is turned upside down the day he visits the local library and meets the Unicorn Lady…”

Olivier Award nominated Wizard Presents brings Michael Morpurgo’s best-selling children’s story to life in a brilliant 1 hour, 1 woman show that will have all ages mesmerised. Young and old will be sitting on the edge of their seats as Danyah Miller, who plays the Unicorn Lady beautifully retells the story of Tomas and his growing love for books and their beloved village library.

This show is exceptional from beginning to end.

It has a charm about it that leaves the audience submerged in a magical world of books and their own imaginations. Children leave inspired and captivated by numerous stories told throughout; the whispers of excitement and enthusiasm have a tangible buzz when leaving the theatre.

It was wonderful to be a part of audience at the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds. The theatre was the perfect setting for such an exceptional piece of children’s theatre. The set was so clever and creative, gasps of amazement - “wow”, “that’s so cool” and “mum did you see that?!” were heard rippling throughout the theatre from beginning to end.

Here’s a few quotes about the show that children said after the show:

“The show was really good. I liked it best when the lady made up a story from the things we said. The book swap at the end is good too.”

“I liked the music and how different things were hidden inside all the books. Especially the book hidden in a book, and then another book hidden in another book. It was really clever and cool.”

“I really liked the story of the unicorn at the end. I definitely believe in Unicorns.”

So, if you are a family that love theatre and appreciate unique styles of performing this is a must-see for you! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such an engaging piece of theatre. This isn’t just a children’s show, this is a wonderful journey of discovery and art for all ages.
