Ice Rinks in Suffolk This Christmas
The Mayor will open the ice rink at midday on Saturday 17th December. Members of the public will be able to use the rink between midday to 8pm from the 17th until Wednesday 21st December. On Sunday 18th December it will open from 10am-6pm.
Town Council has again arranged for an ice rink to be brought to Great Eastern Square in the run up to Christmas. The rink is being sponsored by the East of England Cooperative and also supported by two County Councillors who have allocated part of their individual Locality Funding towards the venture.
Other activities being planned alongside the rink include rides for smaller children and a stall serving hot food and drinks.
Saturday 3 December 10.30am – 4.30pm, Market Square
All the family can join in and have a go at ice-skating on the rink beside St Mary’s Church. Free with a donations bucket. Just turn up swap your shoes for skates and off you go. It’s suitable for adults and children. There are no sessions as such, if it’s crowded you may have to come to make room for others but if it’s not you can stay on till you get tired. It’s part of the Haverhill Town Council’s arts and leisure programme and is actually only on the Saturday.
The Mix is hosting its first indoor Christmas Market in partnership with Stowmarket Town Council’s “Snow-fiesta”.
The day will include an ice rink & inflatable snow globe around the market square as well as the indoor market at The Mix.
