Water Powered Rockets and Minibeast Hunt On 26th August, Ipswich Building Society is inviting members and families to register to join them at Needham Lake for an afternoon exploring the local Suffolk wildlife as well as a chance to learn how to create your very own Water Powered Rocket. This is the latest member event to be hosted as part of All In, the Society’s membership programme which incorporates ownership, volunteering, events and feedback to communicate to members the clear and distinct benefits of membership of Ipswich Building Society. Register on the Ipswich Building Society website to become a wildlife explorer for the day. To qualify for this exclusive, discounted member event, children or their parents or grandparents must be named on a savings or mortgage account. Improve your children’s financial literacy the fun way this summer If the British summer weather lets you down, why not download the ‘My Puppy: Maths and Money’ app, an interactive experience for primary aged children that engages and teaches numeracy and money skills? The 5 money based games designed by Ipswich Building Society will help to develop your child’s skills and understanding of money in the real world. It will also help them to understand the benefits of saving, what money can be used for and help them to understand how to budget. The app is available to download free from the App Store and Google Play.  There are no charges, credits or top-ups required. Louise Swindlehurst, a primary school teacher, said, “My Puppy: Maths and Money is a fantastic interactive learning aid. I’m a mum to two boys and they loved the games and the rewards for completing the different tasks. I’m looking to introduce it to my class at school. It’s a good way to grab their attention and make financial learning a little more interesting.” Link to Registration page The event begins at 1pm and each child must bring a 2 litre empty plastic fizzy drinks bottle. All other equipment will be provided. Register your child's place now to avoid disappointment. Tickets cost £1 per child and adults are free. The Needham Lakes activities will be run and supervised by Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council Rangers. All staff are CRB checked, First Aiders and carry a mobile phone. The child(ren) must be accompanied by their parent or responsible adult at all times. No age restrictions – younger children may need more help from their parent/guardian.
