Keep Your Kids Safe This Halloween!

This Halloween make sure your kids are seen! Children can get very excited about getting as many sweets as possible in the shortest period of time, and will be tempted to rush between houses to knock on doors during trick-or-treating. Let's not spoil their fun - help prevent minor mishaps by taking some simple precautions:

Here are a few tips

  • Only knock on doors with a lit pumpkin. Families that have made an effort to decorate their porch, and light up a pumpkin are expecting little visitors. You can feel confident to let your kids knock on their doors.

  • Consider decorating your kids costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers

  • Carry glow sticks or torches to help them see and be seen by drivers

  • Make sure their costume is the right size, to prevent trips and falls

  • If their costume includes a mask, make sure it fits well and the eye holes are big enough for them to see properly

  • Children under the age of 12 should always be accompanied by a responsible adult

  • Take a torch when going trick or treating, as some streets can be very dark at night

Don’t forget, don't start too late... the best sweets will all be gone!
