The Museum of East Anglian Life is celebrating its 48th year! Event: Stowmarket Day 2015 Date: Sunday 22rd March 2015 Venue: Museum of East Anglian Life The Museum’s annual Stowmarket Day is a fantastic opportunity for local people to enjoy the best of what the museum has to offer, as well as see what’s new for 2015. With historic machinery in action, family activities, face painting and demonstrations of 19th century printing, it is a wonderful day out for a discounted price of just £2.00 per person (under 16s are FREE). New for 2015 is a ‘New Member’ offer available only on Stowmarket Day. You’ll receive a 10% discount on a single or family membership that will give you access to the museum and our fantastic year-round events. These include our annual Blues Festival, as well as the Steam and Crafts weekend and the much loved Beer Festival.  Museum membership also includes our weekly Toddler Time, family activities during the school holidays and Mud, Bugs and Baking sessions during the summer holidays (some activities may have a small additional charge). Visitors can also explore Abbot’s Hall, enjoying our new temporary exhibition ‘Calm During the Storm,’ which is opportunity to see beautiful embroidery created by men and women during the First World War, more recent conflicts such as the Afghan War and pieces made to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. There will also be a fancy afternoon of cream tea in the Abbot’s Hall conservatory which overlooks the impressive Walled Garden. Stowmarket Day is the first in a packed programme of events, activities, talks and workshops taking place in the 2015 season at the Museum of East Anglian Life.
